Wiki While You Work
Wiki Training (includes what is a wiki, components of a wiki, and a page to practice using a wiki)
Presenters: Janell Hoffecker & Becky Barnett
Course Description: What is a wiki? The word itself is Hawaiian for "fast". A wikispace is a free, fast and fun web 2.0 tool that can be used in thousands of ways to encourage classroom participation, increase engagement and strengthen the quality of student achievement. Do you like the idea of having a class webspace where your students can collaborate, upload their work and participate in online discussions? In this course we will explore the many uses of wikispaces and provide time for you to develop your own. Join us for this powerful workshop and leave us with your own wikispace to use with your students. Participants must have a working email account. Come with a unit or lesson you would like to "kick up a notch" using technology in the upcoming year.
Dates: July 15th (AM), August 5th (PM)
